Self Exile Media is a small group of freelance web and mobile developers based in Islamabad, Pakistan. It started when the lead-developer, Sohail Abid, left his regular job of php team lead for a full-time freelance career in the mid of 2007. At that time, he had around 3 years of solid web-app development experience ranging from online business directories to distance-based social network. Since then Sohail describes starting an independent business the best decision of his life.

Later on, in the mid of 2008, his brother Mansoor Abid who has been a prolific print and graphics designer joined him. And that marks the informal beginning of the ‘independent group’ that is now known as Self Exile Media.

Sohail Abid

Sohail has been developing web applications since 2005. He has been a Java programmer, PHP developer, PHP team lead and project manager for the web-apps department in a software company before starting Self Exile Media.

Mansoor Abid

Mansoor is working as print and graphics designer for different NGOs for last 5 years. Currently he is the lead-designer in Self Exile Media.
